Special Pricing on Back-Vintage Burgundy

FRIDAY STEALS!

Today we present a special collection that we've spent some time putting together - beautiful red Burgundies from 1990 to 2003, from Grand Crus to village wines, every one specially priced for this Burgundian "Friday Steal."

This is a category of wine we are constantly on the hunt for, and we have to say, these bottles can be very elusive. Young Burgundy is easy to find, but as these wines slowly take advantage of time to open up, to develop, to come into focus, into balance...well, collectors are less inclined to give them up.

Which is completely understandable: When red Burgundy is on point , there is just nothing like it.

We'll keep it short and simply encourage all those looking for great red Burgundy, or great deals, or both, to review the list below.

Please note however that quantities are very limited and all the bottles will be sold first come, first served. The best way to shop is to view our real-time inventory online by clicking here!

Many of the wines are in stock and with the holidays right around the corner, well, it's nice to have some special bottles on hand. Others, however, are pre-arrival so please review the status of each Burg, indicated below.

These are the top names of Burgundy and every bottle is specially priced. Happy hunting!

To order, email us at offers@crushwineco.com or call the store at (212) 980-9463.

Quantities are extremely limited! Click here to see the real-time inventory!

1996 Angerville Volnay 1er Champans
Special Email Price: $104.95
Compare at $120-$200
Burghound: "Reserved, restrained and almost aromatically austere yet the intense, pure, robust flavors offer excellent detail, flavor authority and impressive length. This is still very much a baby and this should age for years." PRE-ARRIVAL

2003 Bachelet Charmes-Chambertin
Special Email Price: $111.95
Compare at $140-$160+
Bachelet makes one of the best Charmes out there and this is a muscular, forward Gevrey of Grand Cru class from the ripe 2003 vintage. A steal from a top Burgundy producer. IN STOCK!

1998 Bachelet Charmes-Chambertin
Special Email Price: $169.95
No compare at pricing available
A very solid Charmes with beautiful fruit and depth. Is this a profound bottle of wine? No, but the 1998s have developed very well in bottle and this is likely to surprise you. In any event, this is also a rather rare Bachelet Charmes to come across and drinking so well right now. IN STOCK!

1999 Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er "Les Cras"
Special Email Price: $118.95
No compare at pricing available
Burghound: "A completely different expression with beautifully precise fruit and flavors plus an intensely mineral component that particularly asserts itself on the finish. The wine is quite supple on the palate but the structure, while fine, is firm and there is no lack of finishing tannins. This is a trade-off between the precision and firmness of the Les Cras and the velvety but juicy Beaux Bruns." PRE-ARRIVAL

1990 Barthod Chambolle-Musigny
Special Email Price: $84.95
No compare at pricing available
A great little gem for the afficionado of village wine; should just be silly good and only 12 bottles are available for a big legion of Barthod fans, so we'll keep it short. This is PRE-ARRIVAL.

2002 Bouchard Nuits-St-George 1er Clos St. Marc
Special Email Price: $55.95
Compare at $90
A rocking premier cru from Nuits St. Georges - nearly 30% off. Great vintage with rich, dense fruit and plenty of structure. Just coming into the sweet spot right now... IN STOCK!

1990 Chandon Briailles Corton-Clos du Roi
Special Email Price: $159.95
Compare at up to $226+
A great producer with a definite cult for their stony wines - talk about transparency of terroir. Chandon's Corton-Clos du Roi is big, exceedingly pure and incredibly structured. These Cortons age. PRE-ARRIVAL

2001 Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er "Les Vaucrains"
Special Email Price: $69.95
Compare at $80+
Burghound: "Richly aromatic with big black fruit nose followed by deep and impressively concentrated, powerful flavors blessed with copious amounts of sap that completely coats the robust, firm but not hard tannic backbone. This has incredible depth of material and the finishing intensity is something to see." PRE-ARRIVAL!

2002 Comte Armand Pommard 1er "Clos des Epeneaux" (1.5L)
Special Email Price: $194.95
Compare at $200
Burghound: "The extract of black cherry aromas are classy, elegant, ripe and forceful with sappy, gorgeously intense, very fresh and concentrated flavors of immense depth and reserve. The finish is very pinot in character and while there is plenty of structure, it is sophisticated and relatively fine. While I prefer the '01 version, it's clear that the '02 is a great young Clos des Epeneaux as well blessed with enormous potential." PRE-ARRIVAL

2000 Damoy Chambertin
Special Email Price: $81.95
Compare at $150+
Burghound: "Exuberant black fruit nose with sappy, big, robust, very intense flavors that offer real breadth underpinned by solid but ripe tannins. Sizeable and robust though not huge with moderately powerful drive that continues onto the long, slightly warm finish. A first rate effort for the vintage that should drink well after a decade." IN STOCK!

1993 de Montille Pommard 1er "Pezerolles"
Special Email Price: $104.95
No compare at pricing available
The de Montille's are most famous for their structured, old-school Volnays though they farm a number of sites in Pommard. This is a hard-to-find de Montille (we have only 3 bottles coming in), but should be just lovely as the 1993s are evolving so beautifully in bottle. PRE-ARRIVAL

2001 Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny 1er "Amoureuses"
Special Email Price: $169.95
No compare at pricing available
Burghound: "Extremely primary nose of sexy, seductive, spicy black fruit with pure, intense, gorgeously complex, penetrating flavors and simply stunning length. This isn't as ripe as the superb '99 but this is in the same league if in a style that favors purity of fruit over raw power." IN STOCK!

2001 Drouhin Griottes-Chambertin (1.5L)
Special Email Price: $364.95

No compare at pricing available

Burghound: "This is fresher on the nose despite being riper with delicious, complex and ultra pure middle weight flavors of obvious breed and a certain lovely reserve. Exceptionally powerful for Griotte with stunning length and a textured, dusty finish but despite the power, this is a remarkably precise wine blessed with great underlying material. My only reservation is the absence of better than average complexity; if the wine develops it, then my score will most certainly be conservative because this is already one very impressive effort." PRE-ARRIVAL

1993 Faiveley Latricieres-Chambertin
Special Email Price: $154.95
No compare at pricing available
Faiveley's Grand Cru Gevrey's are big, burly, old-school red Burgundies - see the Burghound's review regarding the 1993 Mazis. Indeed, the 1993s have developed so, so nicely and yes, we do think the Burghound's review is conservative. PRE-ARRIVAL

1993 Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin
Special Email Price: $139.95
Compare at up to $190+
Burghound: "The '93 Mazis has a terrific nose of deep, rich, expressive, dark Pinot fruit and obvious earth notes plus a hint of game that leads to big, intense, robust, textured flavors that deliver plenty of complexity and fine length. The only nit is the hard nature of the tannins and it's not clear as to whether these will ever completely round out. If they do, my score may be very conservative." PRE-ARRIVAL

2001 Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er "Clos St. Jacques"
Special Email Price: $164.95
Compare at $200+ one year ago!
Burghound: "Deeper and more textured than the Champeaux with a perfumed nose of ripe cherries and raspberries and wonderfully detailed, medium weight, mineral-laden flavors brimming with pinot extract and a touch of earth. There is outstanding intensity here and a long, lingering finish. As is typical of the Fourrier wines, this is not especially big or structured but there is elegance to burn and the finesse and harmony are stunning." IN STOCK!

2003 Jadot Dom. des Heritiers Corton
Special Email Price: $59.95
Compare at up to $90
Grand Cru red Burgundy from the powerful 2003 vintage for under $60 - this will disappear quickly. IN STOCK!

2002 Jadot Chambertin Clos de Beze
Special Email Price: $209.95
Compare at $270
Burghound: "A clear and unmistakable notch up as there is more of everything with bigger, denser and more powerful flavors that are spicier and purer aromatically as well. In particular, the intensity here is almost painful with a controlled and focused power that is something to experience with a firmly tannic spine that will require at least a decade to even begin to unwind. A great effort that will require patience and a cool cellar." PRE-ARRIVAL

2000 Jadot Chambolle-Musigny 1er "Feusselottes"
Special Email Price: $44.95
No compare at pricing available
Burghound: "Intense ripe cherry and raspberry notes coupled with flavors that exude pinot sap. This is the essence of Chambolle with its elegant, fine, mineral-laden flavors and the finely detailed, pure finish that offers velvet wrapped tannins. Though it is not especially complex at this point, there is sufficient underlying material that it should develop more complexity with bottle age. A very pretty wine." IN STOCK!

1999 Jadot Mazis-Chambertin
Special Email Price: $99.95

Compare at $156
Only a few bottles available - crazy price for this wine, they'll disappear quickly. IN STOCK!

1996 Rousseau Ruchottes-Chambertin
Special Email Price: $239.95
No compare at pricing available
A legendary producer, from an under-valued vintage that is beginning to show its stuff. PRE-ARRIVAL
