Burgundy doesn't come much more refined than this - 2010 Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Les Mitans

Posted by Ian McFadden

I've been on a Lafarge buying jag as of late.

This may be my best score.

Even when you consider the strength of the vintage, Lafarge produced absolutely gorgeous 2010s. The Mitans makes this clear.

Mitans is the most incisive, lacy and blatantly mineral of Lafarge's Volnays. This is a bottle that I fall hard for every vintage.

The 2010 is just ridiculously good. I encourage you to check out the full Burghound note below; he nails the wine. When he writes, "There is an almost pungent minerality to the refined flavors that are akin to pure silk," he captures it perfectly.

There are times when I can imagine drinking nothing besides Lafarge. The 2010 Mitans is a great example of why I have such thoughts. It's so honest, soulful and profoundly classy.
