Suertes del Marques makes some of the greatest white wines on the Canary Islands and Vidonia is their top wine.
Vidonia is sourced from ungrafted vines that are 100 years old or even older and is based on Listan Blanco.

The wine offers up a shocking amount of class and detail. There are gorgeously clear layered fruits and a seriously complex mineral core. The wine is extraordinarily nuanced and ultra-clear.
Listan Blanco has a fascinating ability to transmit terroir and Vidonia really exploits this characteristic. Along with incredible finesse, the wine's signature is an emphatic stony center.
Suertes del Marques is situated on the island of Tenerife where the El Teide volcano is a defining presence. The Valle de la Orotava is on the north, northeast side. Vidonia is sourced from a section with more clay, which gives the wine more lift and elegance.
We were blown away by the 2019 when we recently tasted it. The purity and precision were amazing. There's a savory and incredibly complicated minerality to the wine.
The 2019 makes very clear why Vidonia is one of the iconic wines of the Canary Islands. Few wines anywhere hit such a level of purity and haunting complexity. Even fewer clock in at $43.95.
