1999 Bollinger R.D. Mags and Jeros
Lowest Price in the Nation

"Bollinger's champagnes are often known for their richness, but whenever I taste one, it’s usually its fineness that I notice first and foremost." -Peter Liem

When it comes to crafting Champagnes of palate-saturating complexity while maintaining finesse, Bollinger has a magical touch.

I'm happy to offer magnums and super-rare jeroboams of Bollinger's 99 R.D. for $399.95 and $879.95, respectively.

Pricing today is very sharp, ridiculously so: the magnums are the lowest in the U.S. by a large margin.

Jeros of R.D. are very, very rare. There are just two other listings in the country for any vintage, and the pricing here is lower by more than 35 percent.

To place the value in a larger context, Bollinger's R.D. stands out as being one of the silly tête de cuvée values - it is without peer: Jeros of Dom Perignon, Cristal, and Krug go for $1,800-$4,000 (if you can find them).

We've said this many times before, but we need to repeat ourselves - Champagne just tastes and ages better in large format.

It's this combination of polish, elegance and richness that make Bollinger one of the most unique, compelling and loved Champagnes around.

Out of Bollinger's stunning line-up, no wine captures this combination of suave richness and fineness as powerfully as their R.D. bottling. It is one of Champagne's legendary bottles.

Bollinger's R.D. bottling is a later release of La Grande Année, their prestige cuvée. R.D. is aged longer on the lees and this turns up the volume and complexity considerably. And yet, we'd be remiss not to mention the yang to this yin of volume: the fineness, the freshness, the downright steely acids and minerals.

The volume on the 99 R.D. is, indeed, turned up. The 99 R.D. offers a monumental force, an almost overwhelming flavor intensity of Bolly's signature toastiness with notes of spice, citrus and a faint note of pineapple.

1999 was a vintage that produced deep Champagnes of layered fruits. It's these currents of citrus and a fine thread of acidity that make the 99 R.D. especially fascinating.

We loved the 99 Grand Année; it was our "house" Champagne in 2007. The 99 R.D. is a more than worthy successor, delivering even more depth and nuance.

This is an epic wine at what is likely the sharpest pricing you'll see. Quantities are limited. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
