Michel Niellon is, along with Ramonet and Pierre-Yves Colin, one of the longtime benchmarks of Chassagne.
As with Ramonet, the style here places purity and elegance above all else.

Niellon's signature is a combination of weight, depth, a saturating presence on the palate with a strong streak of minerality, a muscular acidity, and a cool herbal thread. In short, this has everything we love in White Burgundy.
Today, I'm happy to offer Niellon's 2024 Chassagne 1er Cru Champ Gains.Â
For white Burgundy, everything points to 2024 being a stunning vintage and, sadly, one that will be in short supply. 2024 is a vintage of beautiful balance, clarity, and energy. This is an ideal vintage Niellon.Â
Champs Gains sits directly to the east of Chassagne's Les Caillerets and, like that famous 1er Cru, is one of the best in the band that runs southeast from Puligny to Santenay. The soil is a shallow mix of clay and fragmented rock that receives ideal sun exposure as the slope faces southeast.
Niellon's Champs Gains always combines pointed focus with a buoying finesse. The 2024 possesses an incredible punch with focus and clarity. The energy and bright citrus notes make for a really compelling wine.
Niellon is a very small estate of only 6ha. This is a small parcel, so we encourage you to order quickly.
