2004 is a Châteauneuf vintage that we've always loved. And Bonneau killed it.

The vintage's freshness, minerality and aromatics have always wowed us. As the wines have aged we've only grown more and more impressed with the vintage.

2004 was sandwiched between the ripe and powerful 2003 and 2005 vintages. Amidst all the muscle, the lighter and brighter vintage sadly never attracted the attention that it deserved. The upside to all of this is that pricing is really fair.

Of course, in the context of the vintage, Bonneau's wines exist on another level, especially Célestins. They are peerless and singular Châteauneufs.

Bonneau's Châteauneufs flaunt an unyielding traditional style. They are wildily complex and savage wines brimming with mystery. Powerful layers of fruit and spice are wrapped around an intense core of iron, mineral and game. The structure allows them to age for decades.

The 2004 Célestins boasts a beautiful combination of richness and finesse. There's a vibrant acidity that gives the wine a gorgeous lift and makes the aromatics really pop.

Bonneau stands as the old wiseman of the Southern Rhône. Whenever we offer Bonneau, it always sells out. I can't imagine it will be any different with this offer.
