The Chave family is Rhône Royalty.
Chave produces some of the greatest wines in the world. At every price point, you'll find something extraordinary.
Today, we pay tribute to Chave with a list ranging from his overachieving Saint-Joseph Offerus to his Hermitage.
The Chave family has been in the Rhone Valley since 1481, and the current head of the domaine, Jean-Louis Chave, represents the 16th generation of an unbroken lineage of winemakers.
The Chaves are most famous for their incredible Hermitage wines, but their origins are in Saint-Joseph, and along with Gonon, the Saint-Joseph is the benchmark of the region.
You'll find a range of vintages of Chave's incredible and nearly immortal Hermitage Blanc, including magnums. There's also Chave's 2016 Farconnet, which is part of his negociant label, which maintains every bit of Chave’s exacting standards but costs just a fraction of the price. Finally, Chave's Hermitage Rouge, of which there are nearly a dozen vintages represented, is one the world's great wines.
