Chevillon Steal
2011 Chevillon Nuits St. Georges
1er Cru Les Vaucrains

"The austere finish is explosive and the length is excellent"
-Burghound

I'm really happy to offer this outrageous deal from Chevillon.

There are few people making Burgundy who I respect as much as Chevillon. He has become a favorite of mine. Chevillon is one of the most consistent producers that I know. Nearly every time I open a bottle of Chevillon, it's crazy good.

Chevillon's style is bold, structured and with serious earth and minerality. These are wines that age amazingly well. Chevillon's top 1er Crus can certainly hang with the Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits in terms of ageability.

The 1er Cru Vaucrains is one of the stars in Chevillon's stable. The eighty-year-old vines produce an especially wild, powerful and emphatically mineral expression of Pinot.

The 2011 Vaucrains delivers all the muscle, earth-saturated minerality and gripping depth that you'd expect. Chevillon's 2011s are really impressive in general, and Vaucrains dramatizes the heights they reached. Burghound is right to focus on the structure, density and length of the Vaucrains.

The 2011 Vaucrains is impressive and has all the markings of a Chevillon that will age well for a couple of decades. At this pricing, I strongly recommend that you jump on the 2011 Vaucrains.
