Baudry's style is beautifully detailed, vividly transparent and refined. What we love about the Grezeaux bottling is its honesty, edgy minerality and the combination of immediate textural appeal and the ability to age beautifully for decades. The fact that it is so affordable only sweetens things.
Grezeaux comes from 50-60 year old vines on gravel soils that sit over sand and limestone. The 2014 boasts an incredible length, mid-palate punch and acid spine. There's an undeniable impression of completeness to it.
It's the 2014 Grezeaux's amazing harmony, depth and vibrancy that convinced us that it will age really well for the next couple decades or more. Baudry is one of our favorite producers in the entire Loire. The 2014 Grezeaux is so masterfully composed that it seems destined to be a legendary bottle. Don't miss.
