What we love about the Grézeaux bottling is its honesty, edgy minerality, and the combination of immediate textural appeal and the ability to age beautifully for decades. The fact that it is so affordable only sweetens things.
Grézeaux comes from 50-60-year-old vines on gravel soils that sit over sand and limestone. It has a fascinating signature that combines intensity with delicacy and a very stony mineral imprint.
The 2020 is a really lovely example of the wine. It offers up a saturating power along with freshness and a brazen impression of pulverized rock. There's a lovely dark herbal profile that's buoyed by a nice undercurrent of acidity.
