"These are consistently among the top wines produced anywhere in the Mosel..." -Mosel Fine Wine Review
If there were any doubts that Weiser-Künstler is one of Germany's top talents, the 2015 vintage will put them to bed. They produced a brilliant collection boasting intensity, weightlessness and cut.
Weiser-Künstler nailed it with their 2015 Steffensberg. The site is composed of iron-stained, slightly weathered slate and is south-facing. Steffensberg tends to have more of a textural dimension than Weiser-Kunstler's other sites.
In 2015, they exploited this textural element brilliantly. There's an amazing tactile, radiant and muscular minerality. The textural impression is one of polish and sleekness. This is complemented by a razor sharp, driving acidity and beautifully clear, high-toned fruit and floral notes.
Weiser-Künstler is a 4ha estate and given how small the quantities are, we can only offer the wines to a small circle of Riesling fans. If you're getting this, you know the deal with Weiser-Künstler and I won't belabor things much more. It's probably clear by now that this is a don't miss vintage for the estate. And the Steffensberg dramatizes this point.

2015 Weiser-Künstler Steffensberg
Mosel Fine Wines: "This Riesling was fermented in Fuder and left on its gross lees almost until bottling. An initial whiff of smoke and spontaneous fermentation quickly give way to gorgeous scents of white flowers, yellow peach, candied fruits and peach kernel. The wine shines through great presence and intensity on the palate. The structure is smooth but also exhibits great depth and mineral presence in the fully dry-tasting finish."
