2012 Valentini Trebbiano D'Abruzzo

The Oxford Companion to Wine calls Trebbiano an "undistinguished" grape.

Valentini's Trebbiano is anything but undistinguished. It's one of Italy's greatest white wines.

Valentini's Trebbiano brims with personality. It's a cult wine that creates its own category.

Valentini's Trebbiano is luxuriously textured and powerfully complicated. When you catch his Trebbiano 'in the zone,' it steals attention away from the world's best wines. This Trebbiano is one of the great and utterly special wines of the world.

His Trebbiano delivers a fascinating, salty Adriatic minerality, along with honeyed and floral notes and a subtle earthiness that speaks of the dry, sun-scorched land.

Our favorite vintages have a steely core and tension-filled chalky impression to complement the saturating intensity. At this point, the 2012 seems like a particularly firm and concentrated edition of the wine. The aging potential is serious.

Valentini's Trebbiano is a wine that we offer nearly every vintage. Securing decent quantities of the 2012 has been very difficult. There's just not much available, which is why I'm sneaking this in on a holiday weekend. Give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
