Cult Chablis Revisited:
2019 Tribut Chablis

Posted by Ian McFadden

Tribut's Chablis AC is our go-to.

Tribut's signature is a complex Chablisienne minerality and sweeping notes of stone fruits, flowers, and a crackling acidity.

The Chablis AC highlights the oceanic minerality and incisiveness of the wines in a way that we find very compelling.

As many of you know, the 2019 vintage is on the riper side of the spectrum. Just as in other warmer years, like 2015 and 2018, Tribut turned out an impressive collection. The 2019s probably show a bit more verve than the 2015 and 2018 while still offering the detailed and saturating quality that made those vintages so impressive.

The 2019 Chablis is deeply concentrated with a mineral-laden profile. There's a textural imprint of chalk and a beautiful saline streak. The wine is further animated by currents of citrus. It finishes with plenty of punch and a nice tapering finesse.

Tribut's Chablis AC has been an essential part of our Chablis program for years.  Most people taste Tribut's Chablis and it immediately becomes a wine that they must have at least a few bottles of each vintage. There's no doubt that the 2019's open-knit and mineral-drenched style will have many fans. I was very happy to land another parcel of the 2019, but I sadly expect it to quickly disappear.

Burghound: "There are plenty of Chablis elements to the ripe, pretty and very fresh aromas of mostly pear and apple scents. There is fine richness to the supple, round and enveloping flavors that exude a refreshing salinity on the ever-so-mildly warm finish. This relatively forward effort should drink well on the younger side if desired."
