I have a soft spot for Bussière.
I've had so many great experiences with the wine that it's impossible not to.
John Gilman captures Bussière well when he writes, it's "deep complex and very long-lived... and is very deserving of a place in any conscientiously-stocked Burgundy collection."
The 1er Cru Clos de la Bussière sits in the southern section of Morey at the border of Chambolle and is a monopole. It lies below the Grand Cru Clos de Tart and has very stony soil.
The 2019 is a fascinating version of the wine. It possesses some of the vintage's enveloping fruit character but also has real snap and minerality. There's power and edge, but also suaveness and finesse.
Bussière ages beautifully. A bottle of 1995 that we drank a few years ago was gorgeous and still holding plenty in reserve. Sadly, as with all Roumier, quantities are limited. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.

William Kelley, The Wine Advocate: "Unwinding in the glass with aromas of raspberries, smoky cherries, rich soil tones and warm spices, Roumier's 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos de la Bussière is medium to full-bodied, lively and vibrant, with a fleshy core of fruit framed by youthfully chalky tannins that assert themselves on the finish. The most underrated wine in the Roumier cellar, this is a fine prospect for the patient."
