As we’ve written many times before, we've been flipping out over the 2013 White Burgs. The wines are endowed with a sleek elegance and steely minerality that we love.
But even in a vintage defined by such stunning tension and clarity, Pillot’s wines stand out for their unmatched purity and crystalline character.
Of his impressive lineup, Grandes Ruchottes is one of the stars. There's a level of refinement, precision and elegance that you rarely encounter. Situated on the highest slopes in Chassagne,Grandes Ruchottes is renowned for its piercing mineral profile and ageability.
In Pillot’s hands, the site is expressed with beautiful agility and a diamond-cut, chiseled minerality. There's a depth of complexity, combined with brilliant focus and finessed length. Smoke, citrus and orchard fruit aromas precede high-toned floral notes, wrapped around a stony core.
