Don't Miss 2014 White Burg:
2014 Jacques Carillon Puligny-Montrachet

Carillon's are some of our favorite White Burgundies.

Their 2014s are absolutely stunning. The Puligny-Montrachet may be the best we've had from them.

All of Carillon's hallmarks are on bold display. There's incredible rigor, sleek minerality and gorgeous finesse. You also get the unique combination of class, subtlety and complexity that makes Carillon so magical.

We recently opened a bottle for the staff and everyone was blown away by it. It possessed a beautiful sense of harmony, persistence and elegance. The grandeur and deeply etched precision really impressed us. To find a Puligny AC with these qualities is extremely rare.

Carillon's wines may cruise somewhat under-the-radar, but there's no doubt that they are some of the most impeccably crafted white Burgundies. Nearly every time I'm poking around the cellar of a serious Burgundy collector, I come across Carillon's wines right next to luminaries like Coche, Roulot, Ramonet, etc.

I have no doubt that 2014 will be remembered as one of the top two or three white Burgundy vintages of the decade. Like 2015 red Burgundy, the villages-level white Burgundies are incredibly impressive. Carillon's stands as a top example, and when it comes to value, it may be without peer.

2014 Jacques Carillon Puligny-Montrachet

Burghound: "A wonderfully fresh and cool array is comprised by notes of apple, pear and acacia blossom. There is excellent volume to the attractively textured and relatively full-bodied flavors that possess good punch and a subtle minerality on the bitter lemon-infused finish. Note that this should drink well young."
