When it comes value in Chambolle, no one beats Hudelot-Noëllat.
It captures everything we love about Chambolle: gorgeous finesse, seductive perfume and silken elegance.
A few months ago, we offered Hudelot-Noëllat's 2015 Chambolle on a Sunday and the offer blew up like no other Sunday offer has. We scrambled to find enough wine to cover the orders.
Recently, when a parcel came across my desk, I jumped on it. It's unlikely that we'll find a better deal in 2015 Red Burgundy.
2015 is one of the great red Burgundy vintages of the past three decades. The vintage boasts an incredibly concentrated profile with plentiful, but refined tannins, and a staggering amount of freshness and elegance for such a ripe vintage. It's a dream brew.
The best place to witness the greatness of 2015 is at the village level. These wines overachieve in a really big way. Hudelot-Noëllat's Chambolle is "Exhibit A" of just how good the 2015 villages wines are.
It delivers really impressive focus and detail. Burghound calls the 2015 "mineral-suffused [and] very Chambolle in character." It offers up flamboyant notes of red fruits, spice and flowers. There's ripeness, tension and lift. The flavors are concentrated and there's a pure, savory minerality slashing its way across the wine.
I'm going to wrap this up. There's an enormous amount of excitement over 2015 Red Burgundy and word is obviously out on just how good Hudelot-Noëllat's 2015s are. I strongly advise you to jump on what's surely one of the smartest buys of the vintage.

2015 Hudelot-Noëllat Chambolle Musigny
Burghound: "This is also wonderfully fresh and bright with cool aromas of essence of red cherry, floral and spice. The vibrant medium weight flavors possess a clean and focused palate impression while delivering fine length on the cherry pit-inflected finish. This mineral-suffused effort is very Chambolle in character and should be approachable young."
