While we look forward to Dauvissat's La Forest every year, 2014 is the most exciting vintage for the wine in a long time.
It's no secret that 2014 was an exceptional vintage for Chablis. The wines achieved the rare combination of classicism, concentration, and elegance. When you consider Dauvissat’s mastery, it’s no surprise that the 2014 Forest is simply stunning.
Word is obviously out. We've been fielding requests for this wine for the past four months.
In Dauvissat's hands, Forest brims with notes of saline, crushed rocks, sea-breeze minerality, and bright citrus fruits. It's a mesmerizing wine that ages beautifully.

In 2014, it hits a magical place where it's simultaneously deeply concentrated and outrageously refined and detailed. Burghound calls out its "almost painful intensity... before concluding in a stony, long and impeccably well-balanced finale." That captures the wine nicely.
The 2014 Forest possesses a riveting, detailed minerality and an impressive, lengthy finish. There is a remarkable amount of focus and finesse. It's a wine that seems to attack the senses from every angle.
Along with Raveneau's Butteaux and Montée de Tonnerre, Dauvissat's Forest is the most sought after and ageworthy 1er Cru. The major difference is that Dauvissat's Forest can be had for a much lower cost.
Very few Burgundies offer as much cellar potential and complexity at this price. The 2014 is a special vintage for this wine. It's clear that this is a "don't miss" Forest. As you'd guess, I bought every bottle that I could get my hands on. I should warn you, though, this is a wine that disappears every year.
