Bachelet-Monnot is one of our favorite producers. Their lineup includes everything from outrageous values to breathtaking 1er and Grand Crus.Â
The style of Bachelet-Monnot is animated by impeccable balance and precision.
Their Bourgogne Rouge maintains an expertly judged rustic edge while maintaining an alluring spice-inflected texture. The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge is a particularly radiant edition of the wine with a wonderful clarity of fruit. At this level, it's very rare to encounter a wine with this level of detail and purity.Â
Each time I taste a Bachelet-Monnot wine, it's clear that the wines are getting better each vintage. It's been an incredible run for them and there's no end in sight. The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge highlights that this domaine is firing on all cylinders.Â
I'm going to wrap this up. I bought every bottle that was available, but it's still a fairly modest parcel. At this price and with Bachelet-Monnot's reputation, I doubt these bottles will stick around for long.
