The final vintage of the Grand Cru Pinot Noirs that marked a turning point for German Spätburgunder.
If, in retrospect, the idea seems so basic, even obvious, in the early 2000s the focus for most German Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) was ripeness, not place.

And then came along this tiny estate, releasing wildly delicate - both in color and flavor - Spätburgunders that focus on the place and soil.
Today, we're happy to offer the 2023 Buntsandstein, one of their two iconic Grand Crus that has, in many ways, marked a turning point for the course of German Spätburgunder.
This is the final vintage and the only bottles that we'll receive.
As if someone was writing the screenplay, highlighting the drama, the final vintage also happens to rank as one of the greatest-ever vintages for German red wine, at least as gauged by Klaus Peter Keller.
Even with tariffs and fuel surcharges, the wines remain unbelievable deals in the landscape of truly site-specific Pinot Noir.
At as low as $62.95 a bottle on the 4-pack, these are wines to go deep on. This is, after all, your last chance.
The "Buntsandstein" is floral and perfumed with a textural generosity that is enveloping. Yet - and this is the magic - the wine is not heavy, or too dense. The clarity of flavor, the presence and poise of the wine, is what has kept this on the short list of one of Germany's top Spätburgunders.
In short, the wine shows its soil, its terroir. That is, and always has been, the point.
It is an extremely dynamic moment in German Spätburgunder - from the Mosel through the Rheinhessen, Franconia, the Pfalz, and, of course, into Baden.
Yet much of this current momentum has been built on the foundation that Enderle & Moll helped to build. The German world of Spätburgunder is more delicious because of them.
