The 2019s at Lafon are equal to his stunning 2017s and 2014s.
Lafon has been on an absolute tear in recent vintages.
After decades of crafting some of the greatest white Burgundies, Dominique Lafon may be making the best wines of his illustrious career. It has been amazing to watch.
The wines have never had more clarity and finesse. It's clear that the world has recognized this. Comtes Lafon's wines are currently some of the most discussed and exciting producers of white Burg.
I was really excited to snag this parcel of 2019 Genevrières. Finding the wine in quantity is incredibly difficult. In short, Lafon's Genevrières doesn't see the light of day often.
Along with Perrières and Charmes, Genevrières forms a holy trinity. A quick summary is that Charmes is known for its grandeur, Perrières for its refined, punchy mineral focus, and Genevrières, to some extent, falls in the middle. Many put Genevrières as a close second to Perrières. That's to say that it's one of the greatest expressions of Meursault.
With the exception of Coche-Dury, Genevrières doesn't get any better than Lafon's. The site is endowed with incredible harmony, drive, and precision.
Lafon's 2019 Genevrières boasts incredible refinement and length. The wine has a pristine mineral backbone that's seriously impressive. The overall presentation of intensity, verve, and finesse makes for a don't miss white Burgundy.
This represents Lafon firing on all cylinders. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to offer Lafon's 2019 Genevrières, but I should warn you that quantities are very limited. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.

Neal Martin, Vinous Media: "The 2019 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru has a strict, controlled bouquet offering very focused scents of white peach, walnut, smoke and subtle earthy aromas. The palate is well balanced, with a Charmes-like, quite honeyed opening, although the acidity kicks back nicely to maintain tension. A little spiciness comes through on the finish, which displays judicious notes of orange peel and white pepper. Excellent."
