"Excellent" - 2023 Bachelet Côte de Nuits-Villages

Posted by Ian McFadden

We've been beating the drum for Bachelet's 2023. They serve as textbook examples of how Bachelet can magically craft wines that seamlessly meld intensity and precision.

We saved one of our favorites for the final offer and priced it sharply.

Bachelet's Côte de Nuits is always one of the sweet spots in his impressive lineup.

Typically, Côte de Nuits can be characterful, but also rugged and rustic. Bachelet takes the appellation to a nearly unimaginable level of textural elegance and ageability.

For me, it's the Côte de Nuits where I think the greatest value is in Bachelet's lineup. Year after year, this is one of my go-to bottles.

The Côte de Nuits is above all about a stony minerality. The 2023 takes the stony core and builds a subtle soil-inflected minerality that's rendered with incredible precision. There are ultra-clear layers of red fruits, and a beautiful textural elegance.

I'm going to wrap this up. Bachelet has a huge following and word is out on his 2023s. I expect our modest parcel to disappear quickly.
