Petits Monts is, literally, a stone's throw away from La Romanée and Richebourg.
Drouhin turns out one of the best examples from this great site.
It delivers the velvety elegance, spice-inflected complexity, and outright class that you'd expect from its neighbors.
Drouhin's Petits Monts is seamless, dripping with class, and presented with pitch-perfect harmony. Like Roumier's Cras and Fourrier's CSJ, this is one of those 1er Crus with a rabid following.
Drouhin's plot in Petits Monts is farmed biodynamically and worked by horse and plow as there's no path for a tractor, and all harvested by hand. Véronique Drouhin is convinced that the farming has really elevated this site.
By all accounts, the 2019 Petits Monts is an absolutely beautiful vintage of this legendary wine. The aromatics and texture are seductive. The wine is intense, finely detailed, and tension-filled. It's hard not to be wowed by the wine's aristocratic stature and explosive aromatics.
This is an utterly brilliant vintage of Petits Monts. I'm confident that the quantities available won't be enough to meet demand. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.

Burghound: "Once again there is a plethora of spice elements adding breadth to the overtly floral scented nose of various dark berries and poached plum. The highly seductive medium-bodied flavors possess an absolutely gorgeous mouthfeel while delivering superb persistence on the youthfully austere, dusty and compact finale. This is a classic Petits Monts that should also age gracefully for the next 12 to 15 years. This too is excellent."
