"Excellent quality here."
2020 Jacques Carillon Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières

Carillon's are some of our favorite white Burgundies.

Carillon is one of the most consistent white Burgundy producers that I know. When they nail a vintage, as they did in 2020, watch out.

Burghound comes out and simply states that Carillon's 2020s are "superb."

Carillon produced beautiful 2020s. They combine a saturating palate presence with a mineral-laden finesse.

Of course, in the elegant mineral department, Perrières leads the charge. Perrières is the most laser-focused of Carillon's lineup. I've loved the 2020 Perrières since it was released. When I saw a small parcel become available, I didn't hesitate for one moment to buy it.

The 2020 has a balance and clarity to the wines that I find extraordinary. I also really like how it combines tension and cut with sheer deliciousness.

The great older bottles of Carillon that I've drunk have been astonishing. I see the 2020 Perrières evolving very nicely. This is a great snapshot of one of Burgundy's time-tested domaines hitting the bullseye.

Burghound: "Smoky aromas of citrus, green apple and a bit less floral influence precede the precise and tension-filled medium weight flavors that exude evident minerality on the youthfully austere though wonderfully persistent and solidly complex finale. This lovely if linear and serious effort should amply reward mid to even longer-term keeping. Excellent quality here."
