The Gresigny is the most linear and mineral-laden of the line-up. This is where finely etched detail signature of Dureuil-Janthial reaches its apogee. The vines that were planted in 1945 must contribute to the stony density of the wine.
Vincent Dureuil returned to his family's domaine in 1994, and we've been fans of the wines since we opened in 2005. From the start, Dureuil had a singular focus on quality.
With that said, in recent vintages, the wines have hit another level. The wines have gotten even more precise and lifted, boasting a subtle elegance that makes the wines really stand out.
Vincent Dureuil seems to never miss, but his 2022s really stand out for their zen-like harmony and clarity.
The 2022 1er Cru Gresigny VV Blanc offers up a blazing tension with top notes of white flowers and citrus. There's plenty of volume, but most of it is masked by wine's sleek drive and laser focus.
I always feel fortunate to get my hands on Dureuil-Janthial's wines, and Gresigny is one of the wines that I chase the most aggressively. It's that beautiful. What's on offer is a small parcel that shouldn't be missed.
