Extreme Purity:
2014 Colin-Morey St. Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly Nicholas et Mathis

Posted by Ian McFadden

Simply put, Colin-Morey's 2014's are killer. And this hasn't escaped notice.

All of our Colin-Morey offers have met with huge responses. This is especially true of his St. Aubin bottlings.

The St. Aubins have a cult following that cuts across a huge cross section of wine lovers - blue chip collectors, wine geeks, value hunters, etc.

En Remilly is the best site of St. Aubin. Seasoned Burgundy buyers have long sought out En Remilly for the ridiculous quality to price ratio it delivers.

I can't remember a vintage in the past decade that has been met with as much anticipation as 2014. The wines have such clarity and punch that when you taste them, it's obvious that 2014 is an important vintage. The wines are the total package of vibrancy, concentration and refined harmony.

Nicholas et Mathis is different, much rarer than Colin-Morey's basic En Remilly. It's situated near the Grand Cru site of Chevalier-Montrachet. Compared to Colin-Morey's basic En Remilly, Nicholas et Mathis is deeper and more textural.

Colin-Morey's hallmark is combining intensity with a precise, crystalline profile. They are some of the purest expressions of Chardonnay you'll taste. The 2014 Nicholas et Mathis takes these qualities to the extreme. It explodes with citrus, stone fruits, spice and minerality. All of this is delivered with beautiful finesse.

I'll wrap this up. Please be warned that each time we've offered En Remilly Nicholas et Mathis it's quickly sold out.
