"Fine length" - Seriously Over-Achieving:
2019 Bernard Moreau Chassagne-Montrachet

Posted by Ian McFadden

As we've said before, the Chassagne AC is one of our favorite places to witness the brilliance of Moreau's wines.

Alex Moreau is simply one of the most talented producers of white Burgundy. The Chassagne AC stands out as a testament to his skill as a winemaker.

Moreau's Chassagne is explosive, rigorously sculpted, and above all, pure. I'm always taken by its pristine high-toned gracefulness.

The 2019 Chassagne is a really stunning example. The vintage gave a wine that always over-performs with an extra dose of power and complexity.

What's amazing is how Moreau takes this intensity and creates a wine of incredible harmony and drive. The wine offers up a beautifully silky texture and a radiant profile of floral notes, spice, and citrus.

As quoted by Burghound, Alex Moreau says: "I really like the 2019 vintage as the wines are balanced and vibrant and much more transparent to the underlying terroir than a hot growing season would suggest." That captures the collection very well and begins to gesture towards what makes the 2019 Chassagne so exciting.

The 2019 is a thrilling bottle of villages white Burgundy. Even judging on the strength of the 2019, this is an amazing success
