Fourrier 1998-2013
Gevrey VV, Clos Sorbés,
Combe aux Moines, CSJ & More
I don't get to put together lists of Fourrier like this often.
I can remember the days before Fourrier totally blew up when you could find the wines in decent quantity. This time is long gone. Today, the world quickly swallows the wines up.
I'm excited to offer this list that includes rarities like large formats (both mags and double mags), Clos Sorbés, and back-vintages of Clos St. Jacques.
Fourrier's signature is pristine expression, precise finesse and an ultra-seductive mineral-laden texture. Few wines delight the senses from so many angles. There's a sense of flamboyance and gloss to Fourrier, but there's plenty of substance and deep complexity to back it up.
Above all, they are wines of transparent elegance from an incredibly sensitive and dedicated winemaker. There may be no better place to see just how skilled Fourrier is than his 2004s. He made some of the greatest wines in the difficult vintage. The 2004 CSJ is singing these days. It shouldn't be overlooked.
As you can guess, the quantities are very limited. I'll let you get to the list, but please keep in mind that allocations are very likely.
