FREE Pinot Noir Tasting at Crush
Thursday, 9/12, 5:30-7:30pm
New World vs. Old World - Please RSVP

Come join us at Crush this Thursday evening, September 12th, between 5:30pm and 7:30pm for a FREE Pinot Noir tasting.

New World and Old World Pinots will go head-to-head.

The tasting is FREE, but we ask that you RSVP - please reply to this email and tell us how many will be in your party!

Pinot Noir is notorious for being the most sensitive, capricious, difficult and (for many) the most sublime grape in the world.

Thursday we take a world tour of Pinot Noir, pitting Old World Pinots against New World. The line-up stretches from France and Germany to Oregon, California and Argentina.

From Burgundy, we start at the top of the Côte-d'Or with Collette's 2011 Fixin and travel down to the Côte Chalonnaise with Dureuil-Janthial's 2011 Rully "En Guesnes."

In between, we'll be tasting Simon Bize's 2010 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Fourneaux and Chandon de Briailles' 2011 Bourgogne Rouge. Also from the old world is Ulli Stein's slate-y 2011 Spatburgunder from Germany.

New World entries include the super-restrained Teutonic Quarryview from Oregon and Copain's Tous Ensemble from California. Also, there's Chacra's Barda from Patagonia, a cool area in southeastern Argentina. There's also Belle Pente's Yamhill-Carlton, a perennial favorite.

The event is FREE - we just ask that you RSVP by emailing us at events@crushwineco.com or calling the store at (212) 980-9463 to tell us how many people will be in your party.
