D'Angerville has a mere 0.65ha in Caillerets.
It's a shame, because Caillerets is one of the great expressions of Volnay.
Unsurprisingly, d'Angerville produces one of the supreme examples of this site.
If d'Angerville's Caillerets doesn't get the same play as Clos des Ducs, Taillepieds and Champans, it's due in large part to the size of their holdings there. Production is simply too small to spread the word on how magnificent Caillerets is.
In short, d'Angerville's Caillerets is a supremely elegant Volnay. For many Burgundy experts, if Volnay were to have Grand Crus, Caillerets would be at the top of the list.

If Clos des Ducs possesses a regal power, Caillerets is all about tense, precise and pinpoint refinement. There's an ultra-elegant thread of minerality coursing through.
2013 is an ideal vintage to catch the gem-like precision of Caillerets. The vintage was certainly challenging for everyone in Volnay. What d'Angerville turned out in this vintage is deeply thrilling. The wines are brilliantly pure and vibrant.
Caillerets can be shy in its youth. But when it hits its stride, Caillerets is a "wow" wine. This wine has incredible aging potential. As quoted in Burghound, Guillaume d'Angerville believes the 2013s will pay dividends in the cellar: "I think that they will age well as they have everything that they need to do so."
We're especially excited to watch the 2013 Caillerets evolve in the cellar. Everything seems to be in place for a heart-breaking wine to emerge in 7-10 years. Yields were way down in 2013 making a rare wine in even shorter supply. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
