Gevrey produces some of the most satisfying and profound wines around.
Today, we pay tribute to the earthy power of Gevrey with an extensive list ranging from villages wines to Grand Crus.
In putting our list together, the amount of very talented growers working in Gevrey really stood out. The only village that could rival it would be Vosne, and there's an argument to be made for Gevrey having a more varied and dynamic cast of producers. Even when it comes to a historic leader like Rousseau, I'm shocked by how good his Gevrey villages, Mazy, and Ruchottes have been in recent vintages.
Along with the big names mentioned at the beginning of the offering, you'll find exciting young growers, like Berthaut-Gerbet and Duroché, and long-standing benchmarks like Lignier.
The range of sites on offer is impressive. There's top 1er Crus (CSJ, Cazetiers, Combe Au Moine) and a wide selection of Grand Crus that includes Latricières, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Chambertin, Ruchottes, and Mazy.
