Gevrey On Tiptoe
2012 Pacalet Gevrey-Chambertin

You're unlikely to taste any Red Burgundy quite like Pacalet. The most succinct description is poise and deliciousness.

Pacalet's Burgundies are far removed from the mainstream, yet they've garnered a huge fan club. When you taste them, their clarity and sheer drinkability immediately win you over.

For us, it's with Pacalat's village wines that he really shines. They deliver a transparency and precision that's rare at this level.

For all their delicacy and gossamer textures, Pacalet's can have deceptive substance. They just strut it by walking on tiptoes.

2012 is a vintage that very much played into Pacalet's hands. The vintage's density, vividness and acidity are rendered with seductive texture and focus. There are beautiful bright red fruits, floral notes and a spine of minerality. Gevrey's muscle is rarely presented so suavely.

Pacalet enjoys a huge fan club in Paris. Securing these in anything close to a decent quantity is difficult. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
