The Morey, which comes from three lieux-dits, Crais Gillon, Corvées, and Le Village, highlights the perfect match between vintage and style: it has 2017s buoyant luminosity and Jouan’s characteristic haunting aromatics. The total package offers both joyful drinkability and a mysterious depth of complexity.
Jouan produces some of the most intriguing and thought-provoking Burgundies we know. The 2017 Morey is a prime example of this. We’re certainly not alone in this opinion; his wines always seem to disappear quickly.
