The Morey St. Denis has always been one of our favorites. It's a very impressive and honest Burgundy for the money.
The Morey, which comes from three lieux-dits, Crais Gillon, Corvées, and Le Village, highlights the perfect match between vintage and style: The 2019 vintage endowed the wine with an extra dimension of punch and complexity. The total package offers both joyful drinkability and a mysterious depth.
The 2019 Morey is muscular, but miraculously remains fresh and has a vivid terroir imprint. The wine flaunts how Jouan's fine-tuned and graceful style really shines in warmer vintages.
Jouan produces some of the most intriguing and thought-provoking Burgundies we know. The 2019 Morey is a prime example of this. We’re certainly not alone in this opinion; his wines always seem to disappear quickly.
