For nearly a decade, we've been following Pommier's wines closely.
They craft incredibly appealing Chablis that's clear, textural, and has a saline cut.
Their 2021 Chablis "Les Reinettes" has been stunning each time that we tasted it. I first tasted the wine at the estate in February from barrel and have been waiting to offer it ever since. The beauty of Pommier's 2021 "Les Reinettes" is how it combines great poise and concentration.
We're very happy to offer Pommier's 2021 Chablis "Les Reinettes" for $36.95 on bottles and $33.95 in 4-packs.
Isabelle and Denis Pommier founded the domaine in 1990. Along with people like Patrick Piuze, Thomas Pico of Pattes Loup and Alice and Olivier de Moor, the Pommiers represent an exciting relatively new wave of Chablis producers.
Everyone in the group above has really upped the ante for the region. Pommier's Chablis introduces an extra dimension of textural complexity to Chablis' famous saline minerality. They show intensely saturating minerality.
Their 2021 Chablis "Les Reinettes" has plenty of energy-filled finesse along with layer upon layer of mineral, fruit and floral notes. It's the punch and grace that really wow me.
Pommier really nailed the 2021 vintage. Their "Les Reinettes" captures all of the vintage's clarity and adds a gripping mineral concentration that one rarely encounters in 2021s. At this price, I strongly encourage fans of mineral wines to stock up. It doesn't get much better.
