Here Today, Gone Tomorrow:
2012 Dauvissat Chablis

Posted by Ian McFadden

We're still digging out of our winter sale, so I'll keep this brief.

I rarely get my hands on back-vintage Dauvissat AC. Finding the current vintage can border on the impossible.

As I wrote recently, the AC is as rare as Dauvissat's Grand Crus.

Dauvissat produced a gorgeous cast of 2012s. Across the board, they have a beautiful combination of precision, energy, and concentration.

The 2012 Chablis offers up plenty of presence, but what really wins us over is its piercing minerality. There's an agile brightness to the wine that delivers loads of Chablis character and floral and citrus notes.

I'll close with a warning. This is a small parcel and I'm expecting a quick sell-out. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.

To order, email offers@crushwineco.com or call the store at (212) 980-9463.

Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media: "As is typically the case chez Dauvissat this displays even more Chablis character with a completely different aromatic profile that is composed of cool and pure white flower, sea breeze, mineral reduction and iodine nuances. There is lovely intensity but also good mid-palate stuffing that imparts a rounded palate impression to the saline-inflected finish. This terrific effort should drink well young but also reward 4 to 6 years of cellar time. Recommended."
