The Boisson family is associated with Meursault. This leaves their incredible work in Auxey-Duresses sadly overlooked.
Boisson's work in Auxey-Duresses has been "hiding in plain sight". Their Auxey-Duresses Blanc shows a similar tension and cut that makes their Auxey 1er Cru En Reugne so thrilling.
Auxey-Duresses has long enjoyed a reputation for delivering value white Burgundy. Generally speaking, Auxey turns out very mineral wines with a slightly rustic edge. The best examples can be totally stunning.
Boisson's 2018 Auxey-Duresses is a new addition to their lineup that is sourced from purchased fruit. It possesses a brilliant kinetic energy and polish. All of this is carried by an undercurrent of ruthless minerality. Because of its pointed and mineral dominated quality, Auxey-Duresses often excels in warmer vintages, like 2018. Boisson's 2018 is gorgeous in its clarity of expression. There's a bright stony core and plenty of finesse.
Boisson's wines have gained a cult following and prices have started to increase significantly. The Auxey-Duresses Blanc is the greatest value in Boisson's lineup. We took every bottle that was available to us, but it's still not very much. We suggest that you get your orders in early.
