Hierarchies Crumble, Revisited:
2013 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Blanc

Posted by Ian McFadden

There's no getting around it... Coche is special. Even his Bourgogne Blanc works on an elite level.

Recently, I was lucky enough to come across a small parcel of the 2013 Bourgogne Blanc. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to offer it again today.

Coche’s wines represent balance at its most extreme – a surreal partnership of tension and grandeur. You taste the wine and a regal stature makes itself obvious. There's shocking depth and seamless complexity and verve.

We love the Bourgogne Blanc for its aristocratic flair, and stunning combination of opulence and rigor. It's dramatic and densely mineral, possessing a class and intensity that's heartbreaking.

In 2013, the Bourgogne Blanc has an incredibly sculpted and powerful minerality. There's real punch and drive along with an ultra-finessed and lifted profile. All of this is delivered with pitch-perfect clarity.

When it comes to Coche-Dury's Bourgogne Blanc, Burgundy's neat, time-tested hierarchies crumble. This is an absolutely thrilling bottle. I wish that more were available, but at this point that's the deal with Coche. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
