Pierre-Yves Colin turns out no shortage of wines from Burgundy's greatest sites - Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Meursault Perrieres, etc.

Yet savvy buyers flock toward his St. Aubin bottlings.

Of these, the releases from En Remilly are at the very top.

En Remilly is the best site of St. Aubin. Seasoned Burgundy buyers have long sought out En Remilly for the ridiculous quality-price-ratio it delivers.

Whenever we receive our allocation of Colin-Morey's En Remilly, it disappears.

Nicholas et Mathis is different, much rarer than Colin-Morey's basic En Remilly. It's situated near the Grand Cru site of Chevalier-Montrachet. Compared to Colin-Morey's basic En Remilly, Nicholas et Mathis is deeper and more textural.

The razor sharp, delineated nature of the 2013 vintage dovetailed beautifully with the site. Colin-Morey has quickly emerged as one of Burgundy's top talents. The wines are some of the purest and most intense expressions of Chardonnay around. Crystalline is the word that comes up again and again. The 2013 Nicholas et Mathis displays this with high drama.

In short, the 2013 Nicholas et Mathis is a glorious example of this wine. Without sacrificing any of its grandeur, it has an amazing laser focus. You don't have to look any further for proof that Pierre-Yves Colin is one of the most exciting producers of White Burgundy.
