Hitting The Bulls Eye:
2011 Raveneau Chablis Montee de Tonnerre

“In fact, I would say that Raveneau made the wines of the vintage.” - Burghound

Simply put, Raveneau produces some of the greatest white wines on earth. And year after year, Montée de Tonnerre is one of the stars of Raveneau's lineup.

Montée de Tonnerre delivers a magical combination of grandeur, complexity and value. Although MdT is a 1er Cru, it has the capacity to rival many a Grand Cru. The wine can possess a level of power and finesse that's reminiscent of Les Clos. Raveneau’s MdT is consistently the benchmark for the site.

The 2011 MdT is a stunning achievement, and shows just how well Raveneau navigated the vintage. Raveneau’s 2011s harnessed all of the vintage's ripeness and concentration, while maintaining incredible grace and precision. Burghound has flat out declared Raveneau’s 2011s “the wines of the vintage.”

The 2011 MdT combines a saturating palate presence with a steely elegance and striking minerality. The profile is intense but ultra finessed, delivering notes of florals, saline, citrus, stone and spice with dazzling clarity. For all of its grandeur, it flaunts incredible detail, class and refinement.

I’ve had countless old bottles of MdT, and it’s always a mesmerizing experience. Unfortunately, Raveneau’s status as the master of Chablis means that finding the wines in quantity has become nearly impossible. Today’s offer constitutes a tiny parcel that we expect to disappear quickly. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
