When it comes to purity of expression and coaxing an intricate, subtle complexity from Gevrey, it's clear that Duroché has the touch.

As we wrote in a recent email, it's impossible not to be wowed by Duroché's Grand Crus, but for us, the true sensitivity and quality of the winemaking is best seen in the lieu-dits bottlings. They make abundantly clear the precision and attention to detail that's in play at this domaine.
For us, Champ is the star of the lieu-dits. Duroché’s Champ comes from northern Gevrey, from a site averaging 40-45 year old vines. Champ's signature is refinement, freshness, and detailed minerality.
The 2023 "Champ" is a profoundly exciting bottle. It serves as a near-perfect expression of Duroché's style. The vintage endowed "Champ" with a remarkable refinement, verve, and soil-tinged aromatics. All of this is present alongside serious depth and complexity.
Pierre Duroché is a 5th-generation winemaker who took over the domaine in 2005 and immediately turned out breathtaking examples of Burgundy. With each vintage, the wines get even more precise and articulate. The 2023 Champ makes clear why we hold Duroché as being one of the most exciting domaine in all of Burgundy.

Neal Martin, Vinous Media: "The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Champ clearly has more fruit intensity than the regular village cuvée. It contains finely delineated raspberry, wild strawberry and crushed stone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, taut and focused with lace-like tannins, plenty of salinity and an airy yet lengthy finish. This is one of Duroché's best entry-level cuvées"
