Hitting The Bullseye:
2022 Domaine du Pélican Arbois Trois Cépages

Posted by Ian McFadden

For many years, Pélican Arbois Trois has been one of our go-tos.

A blend of Pinot Noir, Trousseau, and Ploussard, the Trois Cépages always has a beautiful balance, purity, and drinkability. Since our first tasting of Pélican's lineup, we've gravitated towards the Trois Cépages for this reason.

We're huge fans of the 2022. In this vintage, it stands out with its radiance and depth of intensity. The 2022 Trois Cépages reached a beautiful level of terroir-infused clarity. The wine has a beautifully silken texture and captivating harmony.

Guillaume d'Angerville became obsessed with the Jura after a sommelier in Paris poured him a glass of Chardonnay blind, and he was very impressed, believing that it was a Burgundy. This sent him off on a five-year search to find a choice location in the Jura. He consulted with a well-known geologist to find ideal vineyards. He named it Domaine du Pélican, a reference to the pelican on the crest of the city of Arbois.

Since its debut vintage in 2012, we've watched Pélican's releases go from strength to strength. It's very clear that Pelican has really dialed in the winemaking at a very high level. The 2022 Trois Cépages boasts a seriously impressive level of fineness and sophistication.

This is one of the wines that we feel confident recommending to a wide selection of people. The wine is so well made and delicious. In a vintage like 2022, we strongly recommend that you pick up a few bottles.
