Hitting The Mark Revisited:
2018 Pillot Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois

The Saint Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois is one of the great values of Pillot's lineup.

Thierry Pillot has emerged as one of Burgundy's most talented white Burgundy producers. The wines possess unmatched purity and crystalline character that sets them apart.

Out of the strong lineup, we're especially fond of Charmois. The wine delivers utter deliciousness, class, and a pristine mineral character.

Saint Aubin has long been a home for Burgundy value seekers. Few villages can compete with the layered depth and steely verve that Saint Aubin delivers for the price.

With the 2018 Charmois, Pillot hit the mark. He was able to create a 2018 that stands out for its tension and brilliant minerality. There's a driving stony core with smoke and hints of earth. It's the combination of force and agility that really wows you.

The Saint Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois is one of the great deals of white Burgundy. The wine has become a pillar of our offerings. You simply don't find many Chardonnays that offer this much for the price.

Neal Martin, Vinous Media: "The 2018 Saint-Aubin Les Charmois 1er Cru has a taut, stony bouquet with light orange blossom and flinty scents. The palate is very saline on the entry, capturing the spiciness of this vineyard with stem ginger springing up on the finish. It just misses a little persistency but otherwise, fine."
