"Dancer's 2014s are among the best wines that I have ever seen from him and they are very much worth your attention."
Over the past few vintages we've been watching the quality of Dancer's wines soar. As the Burghound quote above makes clear, they hit the next level in 2014.
Of course, the Perrières is the headliner. Meursault doesn't have any Grand Crus, but there's no doubt that Perrières can rival many Grand Crus. For Chardonnay, this is a very special place. The wines are deeply complex with a staggering, refined elegance.
Dancer's parcel in Perrières is a mere 0.29ha. This is extremely limited. There's no 2014 Dancer Perrières available anywhere else in the U.S. If you go searching for any vintage, you can find something like a case total.
The 2014 White Burgundies are really exciting. There's immense concentration and incredible depth all buoyed by a beautifully integrated, glowing acidity. The combination is riveting. It's clear that people have taken notice. I haven't seen this level of excitement over a White Burgundy vintage in a very long time.
Dancer's Perrières is shocking in how a saturating presence co-exists with a deeply etched mineral finesse. Burghound nails it when he highlights the "excellent richness and cuts-like-a-knife delineation." It's a pristine expression of flowers, stony minerality and citrus-infused stone fruits. The Perrières has explosive complexity and incredible detail.
Dancer somewhat cruises under the radar, but recently the wines have been just too impressive for Burgundy fanatics not to take notice. In the past few months, I've talked to a bunch of collectors who have been blindsided by the quality here. That's my way of saying that I'm anticipating needing to allocate this evening. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.

Burghound: "The cool, pure and airy nose is notably restrained with its essence of acacia blossom, lavender, pear and lemon rind suffused aromas. There is excellent richness and cuts-like-a-knife delineation to the wonderfully refined medium-bodied flavors that are blessed with an abundance of minerality on the explosively long and palate staining finish that exhibits a trace of youthful austerity. This silky and sophisticated effort is also going to require at least a few years of bottle age before it's ready for prime time."
