Simply put, Huët is Loire royalty.
No other producer has produced quite the cast of Chenin Blancs that have aged so brilliantly.
Huët's 2010s remain among the best vintage from the producer that we've tasted in their youth.
Recently, we've been tasting through Huët's 2010s and they are every bit as amazing as they were in 2012 when I wrote: "2010 Huët is a vintage to go deep on. Ten years from now, I wouldn't be surprised if 2010 and 2002 are looked upon as Huët's top vintages of the decade. They seem to possess that magical combination of concentration, balance, and classical proportions."
Today, we're excited to offer a small parcel of Huët's 2010 Clos du Bourg Sec for $72.95 per bottle.
The Clos du Bourg tends to be more structured than Huet's other sites, Le Mont and Haut Lieu. Hailing from a site of hard limestone layered with thin topsoil, it is often the site of Huet's that ages the longest.
The 2010 Bourg Sec is absolutely thrilling. It has a racy chalky core with complex layers of citrus and stone fruits. The wine is animated by a radiant mineral clarity. The combination of saturating depth and energy is extremely compelling.
It's impossible not to mention that Huët closed an important chapter of its illustrious history in 2010 with the early retirement of Noël Pinguet, Gaston Huët's son-in-law who was the winemaker since 1976. Huët's 2010 Clos du Bourg Sec will certainly serve as a monument to Pinguet's superb winemaking.
