Huet is Loire royalty. They've turned out no shortage of epic bottles over their long history. Still, the 1989s are special. There's a magic to the '89s.

The '89s are rounded and luxurious texturally yet also stunningly elegant, sculpted. The acidity seems to style and buoy all that glowing citrus, straw, honey and lanolin. It's mind-blowingly layered and beautifully elegant.
I'm very happy to offer two '89s from Huet's top sites, Le Mont and Le Clos du Bourg.
Of the two, Le Mont has the most striking elegance, especially in '89. Le Mont has a dancing minerality and an ultra-fine weave of citrus, honey, smoke and floral notes.
Le Clos du Bourg is the powerhouse. Clos du Bourg always possesses an extraordinary depth of minerality and wickedly complex textural presence. The '89 Bourg Moëlleux offers a grandeur and architecture that's just insane.
Huet's Moëlleuxs, especially the 1er Tries, are legendary for how they age. With time (say, 10, 20... 100 years) the sugar integrates into the wine and they become less sweet, more complex. Few wines are this immortal, and few marry their richness with finesse in such an integrated, seamless fashion.
