Drouhin produced dazzling 2016s. The Vosne 1er Cru is almost certainly where the greatest value is at.

You don't have to look any further than the formidable sites to have a clear picture of what makes the Vosne 1er Cru special.

It comes from Petits Monts, Malconsorts and Chaumes. The first two in particular are among the top sites in what's arguably Burgundy's greatest village. This is the first time that we've seen the Vosne 1er Cru bottling and we're excited to have this small parcel.

On Drouhin's 2016s, Burghound writes: "I found the quality here to be outstanding." The magic of Drouhin's 2016 is in their shimmering transparency. They are every bit equal to the their stunning 2015s, but in a totally different style. The 2016s are crystal clear, feather weight and incredibly elegant. The wines absolutely sparkle and have an extraordinary lift and perfume.

When it comes to the 2016 Vosne 1er Cru, the wine has some serious mineral coursing through it along with beautiful spice and high-toned notes. It also has a really impressive velvety texture. There's something undeniably regal about the wine.

This is a bottle that perfectly sums up why I like Drouhin so much. At their best, Drouhins come across with an unmediated purity that can be haunting.
