The vintage produced concentrated, tactile wines with a gorgeous thread of acidity. These qualities of the vintage helped produce epic Grosses Gewäch at Keller.
At this point, Keller is recognized as one of the greatest winemakers in the world. They are some of the grandest and most statuesque Rieslings. It's impossible to not take notice of the wines. When the wines hit the extraordinary level that they did in 2019, they can easily hang with the best out there.
Hubacker is typically the most muscular of Keller's GGs, but over the past decade we've watched the wine gain a surprising amount of refinement. As Stephan Reinhardt's note above makes clear, Keller's Hubacker reached a new level in 2019.
The 2019 Hubacker possesses a level of elegance that we've never seen before, along with an explosive mid-palate. It has incredible purity, precision, and class.

This is pure, vital or almost racy on the palate, which is an excellent counterpoint to the suppleness and richness of this Hubacker that displays mandarin and white peach aromas. The wine is silky, fresh and juicy but also enormously mineral and tensioned, with impressive grip and length. I have never had a Hubacker at such a high level."
