" I very much like the complexity and sense of harmony"
-2014 Bize Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Talmettes

Simon-Bize is red Burgundy exactly as we like them. Their combination of finesse and wildness is endlessly fascinating.

In 2014, you find this rendered with the utmost clarity. Bize simply nailed the 2014 vintage.

Bize's 2014s possess a brilliant complexity and saturating minerality. This is a vintage where Bize's style flourishes. The 2014s are stony, earthy and vibrant to the extreme.

When you factor in the pricing and the track record for aging, it becomes clear that 2014 is a vintage of Bize to go deep on.

Bize's wines, and Savigny in general, are not sock-knocking blockbusters. They don't rely on power or girth. The wines are mineral and honest, possessing a luscious rusticity, but one that's elegant nonetheless.

We always love Talmettes for how expressive it is. The 2014 offers up forest floor, spiced red berry fruit, soil tones and a rocky minerality. There's serious persistence and verve.

Simon Bize produces some of the most authentic, thoughtful, and too often overlooked wines we know. When it comes to soulful and ageable red Burgundy, there are few wines as compelling and as fairly priced as Bize's.
