IDTT Podcast #289: Danilo Nada
2012 Nada Fiorenzo Langhe Nebbiolo

In his I'll Drink to That! interview, Danilo Nada recounts a story about how his father had to green harvest on the sly.

As he explains, for Piedmont's older and religious inhabitants, grapes were a gift from God and to green harvest grapes and drop them on the ground amounted to something close to blasphemy.

However, for Danilo's father, reducing yields was both a revolutionary concept and essential to producing quality wines. The low yields caused plenty of friction between Danilo's father and grandfather.

In the end, everyone was happy with the results. Today, Nada Fiorenzo's wines are some of the most slept on Piedmont values. Their Langhe Nebbiolo makes clear just how strong the value that they offer is. This is a wine to stock up on for the cold months ahead.

We're happy to offer Nada Fiorenzo's 2012 Langhe Nebbiolo at special pricing for I'll Drink to That! listeners.

To receive the special pricing, please use the IDTTFORME promotion code. You can purchase online, over the phone or by replying to this email.

While it carries the humble Langhe appellation, the juice in the bottle comes from Nada Fiorenzo's Barbaresco sites Manzola and Rombone. At the sub-$20 price point, this is a seriously overachieving bottle. It's a bottle that delivers considerable class and complexity.

I strongly encourage you to check out the interview. It offers a ton of information on Nada's area of Barbaresco along with great historical insight about the generational changes that Piedmont has gone through.
